DJ Gruñi Soundsystem

I love when this happens.
I used to play more back when I was living in GDL. Now I only play at private friend's parties once or twice a year, free of charge of course, and very seldom during public events. Although last year, I think, I played at the opening week of a food court in a shopping mall down in one of the healthiest neighborhoods in the city, none paid any attention to the music. Then I was invited to play in San Miguel de Allende, in a terrace with quite an impressive view of the town and surroundings. Two days before the show I fell from a horse, I had one finger about to explode, but medicine and attitude fixed it. People in that party liked when I played Erotica from Madonna. People always like that song, and Kylie's Can't Get You Out Of My Mind.
Twice I heard some other people that also like to play music that a DJ with no Madonna song in her/his playlist is no DJ at all. Also I heard twice that obviously technique is very important, but most important is the playlist itself. I couldn't agree more with both statements. Because I actually do not have any real technique, I play in a two channel mixer, with knobs, the simplest one, with no special effects, loops or whatever, a mixer from the old days in Radioglobal. Which three weeks ago ceased functioning. More that a decade making people dance or simply enjoy tunes that with that little black box.
I only have four playlists: p0, p1, p2 and p3; as you might guessed, they go from off to on. Have them since almost 10 years ago an have been feeding them through the years, I don't mind playing over and over the same song, with the new songs, that sort of combination is always fun and delightful.
So, if you have a party and want me to play music there, it won't be possible now. Have to acquire a new mixer. lol
